Convincing other websites to link to your site is not
difficult IF your
website meets their needs and expectations. If it is better than they

other pages within the site should be easy to find; photos should look
professional; not to much animation; secured credit card check out if
e-commerce enabled; audio in a format that anyone can listen to, etc.

It has useful and worthwhile content - If your website is a
commercial website you need to add more that just pictures, prices and
description of your products and or services. Explaining how they work is
ok, but providing tips, advice and more information related to your
business will greatly enhance your content.

It is well written - If your spelling is not very good, use
"WORD" to correct possible errors.

It is visitor friendly - Your visitors should be able to easily
find the information that they are seeking, the pages load fast, the
information is easy to read (font type, size, color), website is easy to
navigate.

It is Search Engine friendly - Your website or pages within
your website can be easily catalogued by the search engine crawlers
(spiders). Also
make sure that you are not
spamming the search engines or are using unethical promotional practices since
you can do more damage than good to websites linking to you. If a
Webmaster or SEO realizes that you are doing this, they will not link to
you or will delete the link if they have already linked to you. You can
successfully promote your website just by following the Search Engines
guidelines.
