Click Through Rate is the percentage of clicks made from the impressions shown in a website in the form of a banner or a text-based link. The click through rate lets you know how many people go to your website from another site which can be a search engine, directory, another site or even from an e-mail. Knowing your click through rate (or click through rates, if you have different campaigns going on at the same time) and knowing which are the most effective can help you decide which are working well and which are not. From there you can determine which you will keep and which you will discontinue. If you are paying for impressions instead of for clicks, knowing your click through rate is imperative since a very low click through rate could mean disaster to an advertising campaign and you should discontinue it. On the other hand if you have a high click through rate you should increase the number of impressions. However, the cost for each impression will also determine how successful your campaign really is. |
